Two paths

Word-for-word translation costs more than localizing for meaning

When it's a word-for-word translation

The words are right; the message is wrong

Meaning gets lost

A literal rendering reads correctly but misses the intent your audience needs.

Culture ignored

Tone, idioms, and context don't carry over in the translation, so it's awkward.

Wrong fit linguist

A generalist without subject expertise mistranslates the terms that matter most.

No accountability

If quality slips, there's no guarantee and no one standing behind the work.

When Argo Translation localizes it

On-target, on-culture, guaranteed

Meaning preserved

Every ounce of meaning the original carries shows up in the translation.

Localized for your audience

Linguists adapt tone, idioms, and context for the culture you're reaching.

Subject matter expert linguist

Top linguists for your industry are matched through a rigorous qualification process.

Backed by a guarantee

Argo Certified translation comes with a written accuracy guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about translation and localization

What does Argo Translation's translation and localization service include?
We translate and localize content in over 80 languages across formats and industries. A dedicated project manager prepares your files, assigns native-speaking subject-matter linguists, and runs translation, page production, proofreading, and a final quality check. You can combine human and machine translation, and every project ships with a certification report.
What languages do you translate?
We translate in over 80 languages, including Albanian, Arabic, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. During intake we confirm the correct regional dialect for your audience. If you need a rare language outside our pool, we source and vet a qualified linguist before any live work begins.
What files and formats do you support?
We work in most formats, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, FrameMaker, Acrobat), QuarkXPress, plus web and eLearning formats like HTML, XML, XLIFF, JSON, Articulate Storyline, Captivate, and MadCap Flare. We also offer connectors for SharePoint, Salesforce, Sitecore, Contentful, Notion, and SFTP.
How do you control the quality of a translation?
Our QA process runs under ISO 9001:2015, 17100:2015, 13485:2016, and 18587:2017 certifications. All work happens inside our secure Translation Management System, where native-speaking linguists translate and project managers run QA checks. Every delivery includes a Regulatory Compliance Platform report with a full audit trail and each linguist's credentials.
What does the Argo Certified Translation guarantee?
Argo Certified Translation is backed by a written accuracy guarantee, our ISO certifications, and ATA registration. With every project, you receive a Regulatory Compliance Platform report that serves as your certification, showing the audit trail and each linguist's education and years of experience. Notarization is available when required.
How are your linguists qualified?
Every linguist is a native speaker of the target language with at least five years of professional experience and a relevant bachelor's degree. New linguists are evaluated by another verified linguist before working solo, and project managers select translators by industry specialization.
How long does a translation take?
Turnaround depends on scope, language count, and complexity. As a general guideline, one linguist translates about 2,000 to 2,500 words per business day per language, and we add linguists for larger volumes. Most jobs under 5,000 words finish in one to two days. A confirmed timeline comes with every quote, and rush service is available.
What drives translation pricing?
Pricing depends on word count, language pairs, file format, and the workflow you choose (machine, human, or combined). Translation memory reuses previously approved content, so you're billed only for new or changed text, and costs drop over time. Rush fees may apply, but we look for the most cost-effective option first.
